AOH National Freedom for All Ireland Christmas Appeal Award

A.O.H. of Yonkers Recognized for Support of Freedom for All Ireland Christmas Appeal

The AOH of Yonkers Supports The FFAI Christmas Appeal

The Freedom for All Ireland Committee is an important part of The Ancient Order of Hibernians.  As the largest Irish organization in The United States, we have been closely involved in promoting peace and justice in the North of Ireland due to the hard work and dedication of our members on both a local and national level.  The entire effort is spearheaded by the program’s Nation Chairman Sean Pender.

The AOH holds a Christmas Appeal each year to raise funds for organizations that are doing tremendous work in achieving a just peace in Ireland.  In 2013, the AOH Christmas Appeal was able to raise over $89,000 to benefit organizations like The Pat Finucane Center, Relatives for Justice, The Saint Patrick Centre and others.  Brother Pender leads a delegation of Hibernians to The North every year to distribute the funds.

The Myles Scully Division of Yonkers is a proud supporter of the FFAI Christmas Appeal, and the Division was presented an award to recognize that support at The AOH New York State Board Meeting on May 3rd in East Durham.  Director Pender presented the award to Division One President Kevin Ellis.  The award is a depiction of The 1916 Easter Rising created by Irish Photographer and Artist Patrick Hartnett.
