AOH Annual Communion Breakfast 2015

AOH of Yonkers Hosts Annual Communion Breakfast at St. Joseph’s Seminary

The Communion Breakfast Mass at St. Joseph's Seminary

The AOH Myles Scully Division #1 of Yonkers held its Annual Communion Breakfast at St. Joseph’s Seminary on February 22nd.  The event drew over 200 guests who attended Mass in The Seminary’s Chapel and then was served a full hot breakfast in the campus refectory.

ESPN Broadcaster Tommy Smyth was the Guest Speaker

The guest speaker for the event was ESPN commentator and studio analyst Tommy Smyth, who shared his inspiring life story from beginnings in Ireland to traveling the world broadcasting championship soccer matches for the largest sports network in the world.  Tommy and his wife Treasa also serve as the broadcast team for the WNBC-TV broadcast of The New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade every year.

Pat McLaughlin and Larry McCrudden Hibernians of The Year 2015

Two Division members, Patrick McLaughlin and Larry McCrudden, were honored as Hibernians of the Year for 2015.  “Patrick and Larry are members that symbolize the very best of The AOH”, said Division One President Kevin Ellis, “Both of these men represent the highest standard of community service and citizenship that we all hope to achieve”.

The McSweeney Chalice is used during The AOH Mass each year

The event is special not only for its stunning location, but also for the fact that St. Joseph’s Seminary is the home of The McSweeney Chalice, an Irish relic that was created during the time of The Penal Laws in Ireland and eventually made its way to America.  The Seminary Faculty and Staff graciously agree to take the chalice from its vault and use it during the AOH mass each year.

Division One welcomed AOH NY State Vice President Tim McSweeney (R)

The Officers and Members of Division One would like to thank all of our friends and supporters for making this event a success.  We would also like to especially thank the faculty and staff at St. Joseph's Seminary who welcome us each and every year.
