Sacred Heart High School Chapel Dedication
Hibernians Support Rebuilding and Dedication of Yonkers Catholic
High School Chapel
Members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians this week attended
a very special event to dedicate and consecrate the newly refurbished Student Chapel
at Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers.

The effort to reopen the Student Chapel at the school was
led by Sacred Heart Pastor and Division #1 Yonkers Chaplain Fr. Matthew Janeczko. Fr. Janeczko led a prayer service in which he
thanked all those who donated to the effort.
“May this chapel become a place of
quiet and solace for students and help them find focus in an ever-increasing
chaotic world”. said Fr. Matt.

Fr. Matthew thanked the Hibernians for their financial
support of the chapel, noting that the funds provided by the AOH enabled them
to install a brand-new marble floor for the chapels alter.

Note:
The AOH Division #1 of Yonkers was established in Sacred Heart Parish in
November of 1891.

American Irish Association of Westchester Dinner Dance 2017

AOH Chaplain and LAOH Division President Honored at American Irish Association
Dinner
The American
Irish Association of Westchester held it Annual Dinner Dance at the Fairways at
Dunwoodie this past weekend and several Hibernians were included in the evening
honorees list.
Fr.
Matthew Janeczko, OFM is the new Pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers and was honored for his work with
the local Irish Community since being assigned to Sacred Heart several years
ago. Fr. Matt is the Chaplain for the
AOH Myles Scully Division #1 and the LAOH Our Lady of Knock Division #19 of Yonkers .

Allison
Burke was honored for her work in the community as the President of the Ladies
Ancient Order of Hibernians Division #19 of Yonkers .
Allison has been instrumental in creating renewed interest with the LAOH
and is credited with the tremendous growth in membership the Division has seen
over the past several years.

The American
Irish Association also honored Fr. William Cleary, who is the new Dean of
Seminarians at St. Joseph ’s Seminary in Yonkers and Ralph Puma, who is the
Chairman of the McLean Ave. Merchant’s Association.
Congratulations
to all of the honorees! Division #1 is a
proud supporter of the American Irish Association of Westchester and we
congratulate its leaders for a wonderful and successful event!

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Our Lady of Knock,
Division #19 of Yonkers has announced that they will be hosting a Mass &
Brunch in observance of the Catholic feast Day of St. Brigid on Saturday, February
6, 2015 in Yonkers. St. Brigid is the
Patron Saint of the LAOH.

The Mass & Brunch will be held at Clarke’s Restaurant,
which is located at 1275 Saw Mill River Road in Yonkers. The mass will begin at
12 Noon and then be immediately followed by a catered brunch from 1-4pm. The Mass will be celebrated by Division #19 Chaplain
Fr. Matthew Janeczko OFM.

AOH of Yonkers Welcomes New Division Chaplain
AOH of Yonkers Welcomes New Chaplain from Sacred Heart Parish
The members of The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Myles
Scully - Division #1 of Yonkers were honored to welcome Fr. Matthew Janeczko,
OFM as their new Chaplain at their monthly meeting held this week. Fr. Janeczko is the Associate Pastor of The
Monastery Church of Sacred Heart in Yonkers.

The need for a new chaplain arose when long time Yonkers AOH Chaplain Fr. Eric Raaser, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe was moved to a new assignment by The Archdiocese of New York. The normal term for Pastors is 6 years. Fr. Janeczko happily agreed to accept the new position when approached by AOH members over the summer months.

As Chaplain, Fr. Janeczko automatically becomes a Division
Officer and is in charge of all ministerial aspects and functions of the
organization. Division President Kevin
Ellis officially welcomed Fr. Janeczko and presented him with his badge of
office along with his official AOH Chaplain’s Parade Sash. “The
entire membership is thrilled that Father Janeczko has agreed to minister to
our Division” said Ellis “We believe
that he will have a tremendous and positive impact on our organization going
forward.”
Fr.
Matt, a native of New Jersey, entered the postulancy of the
Province of St. Mary in August of 2008 and was ordained a priest in May
2014. He also founded the website
“CatholicHow.Com”, which seeks to think comprehensively about the practical
