The St.
Patrick’s Day Parade season is fast approaching, and parade committees from all
around the area use flags, banners and sashes produced by the Gettysburg Flag Company of New York. Division
One has been a customer of Gettysburg Flag for several years.

When
the company sent out its annual flyer for St. Patrick’s Day orders, we were
thrilled to discover that a picture of our Division was included in the ad! The picture is of our Division preparing to
march in the historic 250th New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade
in 2011. The Yonkers Division won a marching unit award from the parade committee that year, and we have no doubt that the flags and sashes from Gettysburg Flag made a great impression on the parade judges!

The Yonkers Division of the Ancient Order of
Hibernians was recently honored by the New
York City Saint Patrick's Day Parade Committee
at their awards brunch which was held on May 1st, 2011 at Antun's
Catering in Queens.
The brunch was a "Thank You" to all of the
parade volunteers and to present awards for Best Marching Unit and Band winners
for the historic 250th annual parade held this year in New York City.

The Myles Scully Division won:
2nd
Place for "Best A.O.H. Marching Unit"!
"The A.O.H. Division from
Yonkers is one of the finest divisions you
will ever see." said John Dunleavy, Parade Chairman, "They looked absolutely magnificent marching up 5th Avenue. A well
deserved award and an outstanding job."
Division President Kevin Ellis accepted
the trophy on behalf of the division members.
"This is truly an exceptional honor for Division One. I am so proud
of the effort and commitment of all of our officers and members!
The parade trophy will be presented to the membership at our monthly membership meeting on Wednesday, May 4th.
