Welcome to the Official Site for the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Myles Scully, Division One of Yonkers, New York! We are the oldest and largest Irish-American Organization in the U.S., and we are dedicated to live by our organization's motto, "FRIENDSHIP, UNITY and CHRISTIAN CHARITY." The Yonkers Division was established on November 1, 1891.

Yonkers AOH Honored for Charity Work



Yonkers Division Recognized for Charities Work at Hibernian State Convention

Division #1 Yonkers was one of 18 Divisions in New York State
 honored for its Charities and Missions work. 

     The AOH New York State Convention was held at the Adams Mark Hotel in Buffalo this past week, and the Myles Scully Division was honored for its charities and missions program by the New York State Board.  Division #1 Yonkers was one of eighteen Divisions in New York State to recognized for outstanding charity work.

     Division #1 Yonkers received the New York State Charities and Missions Award for its work over the past 2 years supporting Catholic and Irish charitable organizations in the local Yonkers community.  The State Board noted that since the last New York State Convention in 2015, Division #1 Yonkers has reported $55,790 in cash donations and over 3,025 in volunteer man hours by its members.

     Matthew Buckley, AOH State Charities and Missions Chairman, was proud to announce that the 18 New York State Divisions receiving the award collectively had donated over $430,000 state wide over the same 2 year period.


     The 2017 Buffalo Convention marked the 5th consecutive time the Yonkers Division has received the Charities and Missions award dating back to 2009.

     The Myles Scully Division #1 of Yonkers was recognized for the success of its Charities and Missions Program at The AOH New York State Convention which was held this past weekend in Uniondale, New York.

     The Yonkers Division was one of only 27 Divisions in New York State to receive the NYS Board’s Charities and Missions Award for the 2013-2015 period.  Over that time, Yonkers reported over $50,935 in cash donations and over 2,895 volunteer hours towards Catholic and Irish charities.

     Over all, Hibernians in New York State have donated over $406,000 in cash towards Missions and Charities, and that is a number that all of us have pledged in increase in the future.

The 98th Biennial A.O.H. New York State Convention

N.Y. Ancient Order of Hibernians to Gather in Uniondale for Biennial State Convention

     The New York State Board of The Ancient Order of Hibernians has announced that they will hold their 98th Biennial State Convention July 8th - 12th at The Long Island Marriott Hotel and Convention Center in Uniondale, NY.

     The 4 day event will welcome AOH members from Buffalo to Montauk and all points in between.  There are currently over 16,000 Hibernians in the State of New York.

     The convention will feature focus groups and workshops that will focus on Irish and Irish-American subjects and issues.  There will also be an election where delegates will select a new State President as well as other state officers.  Jim Burke, from Nassau County, is the current State President and will be completing a successful 2 year term.

     Of course, all work and no play makes for a dull event.  There will be plenty of fun and enjoyable activities during the convention.  Delegates will be able to take part in a golf outing, as well as a night time cruise with live music.

Award for Yonkers AOH Charities Program



Yonkers Division Honored by A.O.H. N.Y. State Board for Charities Program


The New York State Board Charity and Missions Award


         The New York State Board of The Ancient Order of Hibernians honored The Yonkers Division for its outstanding charities and missions work at its Biennial Convention held in Saratoga Springs, NY.  The Charities and Missions Award is presented to Divisions who have donated at least $5,000 to deserving Irish and Catholic Charities in New York.  Division One Yonkers reported over $16,000 in cash donations, and logged in over 950 hours of community service by its members.

      The award was presented by New York State President Mike McNabb to Division One President Kevin Ellis.  “This is another great achievement for the members of Division One” said Ellis, “This award is a direct result of the hard work done by our membership, and the dedication of our Charities Chairman Jack McDonald.”


      Funding for the Division Charities Program is raised through its Annual Golf Outing held every Spring.
